Im new also..  I have been hearing this a lot on this board; "Welcome to the madness". Can someone tell me there this is derived from and what does it mean?

    Well you caught the bug kayak fishing...  That's the madness in itself.   

  Hopefully you got a chance for some of that YT action at the county line last month.

"The madness" is hard to define, but here's an illustrative example (based on personal experience):

Getting up at 4:00am so that you can be on the water before sunrise, bobbing up and down in the ocean for 6 hours while sitting in an oversized bath toy, getting skunked and thinking, "This was totally worthwhile". And then doing it all over again the next day...

Lol.. I guess I also have the madness for motorcycles. Im getting cold just thinking about the ocean that early in the morning. Ill pretend its SEALs training to pump myself up..
