My wife orders Kwells chewable hyoscine hydrobromide pills from Australia and the UK and likes them much better than anything else she's tried.

Thanks for the tip. Although I notice they are a little less potent than my locally compounded scopace which are .4mcg the Kwells instructions do say it's ok to take two tablets......& even with the cost of shipping the cost is much less.

Update from the Op:

I did pick up the Scopace from my compounding pharmacy, in a gel form. The gel is in small 1 cc syringes (no needles) and each one is three doses, placed behind the ear 30 min prior. So , about three bucks a dose. Haven't used it yet, but I like that it's cheaper than the patches. They can make tablets if I ask for them.

I'm also going to try the Kwells (thanks Salty) and have ordered up some from the linked Aussie Pharmacy.

Thanks for the info!

Paul

Did you need a prescription for the scopace? I've never had motion sickness before even with some pretty rough rides on the ocean but  I've read stories about people getting sea sick for the first time while on their yak in the ocean And I don'r want that to happen at GS9.
I asked my doc for some patches just in case and he is reluctant to prescribe them.  Something about urinary retention and kidney damage.

In this country, you do need a prescription. Seems like it should be OTC, but I think it can cause hallucinations if you take too much. I wouldn't fret about that, just take as directed.

Of course, overseas pharmacies can send it to you without a prescription. Just add it to your Viagra order  : )

Just an update on the Kwells I ordered from Australia. So far I've taken it twice & didn't get sick either time. The first time I only took one pill but it seemed like it was hardly having any effect on me, compared to the compounded Scopolamine I've taken before, & I did feel like if it had been any rougher waters I might have been feeling ill.

The second time I took two pills & it eventually got as rough out as the first day but I felt good & could tell that I was 'on' the medicine compared from only taking one pill. Still, even with two pills this stuff is definitely not as strong as prescription Scopolamine. At least not as strong as the two batches I've had made up & the pills I was given prior to that. I wonder if it had been really rough out, like the kind of rough day that we normally wouldn't fish unless it was tourney day, if two Kwells would have continued to work?

The package says each Kwells is 3mcg & my prescription bottle of Scopolamine says 4mcg so you would think two Kwells would be way stronger than a single Scope dose but that is definitely not the case. So if you need the maximum power in your anti nausea meds I would pay to have some Scope compounded. Or at least keep that as an option if you try the Kwells & it's not always as strong as you need.
