Just saw the 50% off sale on Shimano Terez at American Legacy this morning, and thought someone here might be interested. I have no experience with Terez, are they good for Kayak fishing? Which models would you recommend?

I was looking at those too...seems like a good deal. I think Rob matanaska uses Shimano Terez rods.

I use the TZCWX80MH, which is not listed, for yellowtail and tuna. There were several onboard this year using Terez rods and nailing the fish.

Not ideal. 8ft is plenty long (I often use 7 or 7.5ft) but the action is all wrong. These are fast action (stiff) rods meant for jigging vertically. For surfperch, you want a slow action (soft/limber) rod.

I would go with anything from 7'-7/2 in medium or medium heavy.these are like the high end version or the trevala rods.very lightweight but have lots of power behind it.I thinking about the 7'6" mh caster
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

Thanks for the recommendation. Should I buy a "slick butt" or "waxwing"?

I have a pair of Waxwing rods ( 7'-2) medium rods
using Stradic 5000 fj reel and 20 super 8 slick power pro braid. Best combo for rock fish, Stripers, and for trolling for Salmon. The price seems high as I bought them at much less. Maybe they gone up since a year ago.
