Question for you Al. How is the paddling from Disco to the train bridge???

That's an easy paddle. The river is flat and wide through that area. About 2 miles from jabboom to the train bridge.

I'll fish either end, Howe or from disco. Don't want to go all the way through again anytime soon.

Let's go!

Glad to see someone is catching Salmon this year.  I will be launching from Discovery Park on 10/18/06 Wednesday Morning 8:00am.

Company Welcome.

Sunday was fun.It was good to meet you guys, Al  the paddle back up to Howe is really easy, just a little current as you go go under the bridge.I'm considering fishing early before work some mornings, maybe leave my mountain bike locked at the college- float down from Howe then tow my kayak back on the bike trail behind the bike using my kayak cart. I've towed my kayak several miles before, it's really pretty fast which make it easier to justify a little more time on the water. One more cast - just one more- OK last cast and so on.   Steve-O

Thanks Steve-O.
Sounds easy enough and I like your bike plan.

Hope to see you on the river again, Al

Craig told me he went up river a ways, how far did you go? Did anyone else go up river?
Thanks, Al
Al,
On Saturday, I stopped at landings to scout and talk to PB's and shorefisherman from downtown Sac to Sunrise park. The only two salmon catch were caught early in the morning downstream from the water tower and near the downed tree. That is where I was anchored because I saw a fish rolling and Mudshark soon had his salmon get off at the net.
After lunch break, I went upstream from Howe about 1 1/2 miles and talked to one other PB who caught one at 10:30 somewhere downstream from the water tower.
Launched at 6:30, gave up at 4:00.
I think the end of the deep pools into a shelf is where the salmon are located. We all can test this theory soon. :smt002
