Allen,

Talked to my buddy w/ boat in Kodiak. He said that his favorite shallow 'but spot is right where you're planning.

That said, man, I'd see if you could pick up a Silver or two in Mill Cove, Black or Dusky rockfish in Monashka Bay, and if you have a mothership, get out to Sunken Spruce Island.
