Well here it is... the video from my helmet cam... First person view of a very small fraction of what happened 4th of July.

I was sitting at Starbucks in Suisun 15-20 minutes away when I got the page on my phone there was a fire at my neighbors address. I called my fire chief for further info. He had no idea yet, I immediately got in my car and raced home. On the way there I called a neighbor and asked if I had the opportunity if there was anything irreplaceable they wanted me to grab. They just wanted their dogs safe. Once I got there I ran around and couldn't focus on anything but trying to save the pets. Once it was clear they were already dead I raced to try and save my dog.
There is a lot I wish I could go back and do differently that day. :BangHead:

I bought a house in Willits. Scheduled to close August 18th. I'm going between camping in my car and hotels until then.

I was renting from my father (he lost two houses in this fire) Insurance is treating him nice. I made a list and i'm around 65k in possessions lost. He still had at least 30k worth of shop machinery and equipment. Insurance had a 49k max payout for contents. So do the math, even if he's very generous to me we are both getting ****ed.

Sorry to hear about the insurance cap.
Glad to see you are moving forward with a place in Willits.
So much closer to water therapy.
I wish you the best of luck.

Wow that was intense. Hopefully the video project will help with feelings of closure. Although this is obviously not an experience one can simply "get over."
You're a good man for trying to help. Thanks for sharing the video w/us. Sending it to a couple of my FF buddies right now.
Time to start researching the local fishing opps around Willits!

:smt010  So sorry for your loss WM.  That video was very intense and emotional.  Looks like many people lost everything... and so sad to think of the pets.  :smt009
