My sister in law wants to go sit in the cove for a Giants game with me but doesn't feel comfortable paddling her own yak so I'm reaching out to the Ncka family in hopes of borrowing a tandem for a day or two. The game we are looking at is Saturday July 26th. I'm hoping to either find somebody in Santa Cruz or who lives on the route to AT&T park (ie. 17 to 85 to 280)

Can anybody help a brother out?

I've got an old Perception Tribe 13.5 Tandem.  It ain't pretty and it ain't fast, but it's roomy.  I'm just off 280 in San Bruno.  Shoot me a PM for address if ya don't find a nicer yak.

Thanks eelkram!! I'm more concerned with space and comfort than speed. I may very well take you up on that offer. You're likely to be home in the afternoon on that date?

Sweet. Totally going to take you up on this. Thank you. Just want to make sure we are properly dressed. How dry a ride is this?  Should we be wearing wetsuits? Are we going to be sitting in a puddle the whole time?

Hmmm, those are good questions.  I think it depends on your weight.  I know that when we've taken it out, I always had a little puddle to sit in. My wife, who is considerably lighter than me, tended to stay dry in the front seat.  Our feet always get soaked though (I don't have scupper plugs for this thing).

It's supposed to be mid-70's and mostly sunny this weekend.  Inside the Bay, the water's been in the mid-60's lately (and along the coast, the news says).  Your call whether you want to wear wetsuits or not.  The rental companies usually just supply a splash jacket and dry pants (as an option).

I'd search the forum and ask folks that have done McCovey Cove what they recommend.

Shoot me a PM for my address and stuff.
