When fishing in Capitola, do you check the tide charts or just get there early and try to be done before the winds pick up?

Also, if anyone is interested in going later this week, let me know and we can meet up.

I just get out early and get in before the wind. Dunno what others do.

When you say tide charts, do you mean the marine forecast?
Because you should always check the forecast before going out. Here's one for Cap: http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lon=-121.93080&lat=36.93231
But I usually check the tides too...just so I know what's going on underwater. http://tbone.biol.sc.edu/tide/tideshow.cgi?site=Santa+Cruz%2C+Monterey+Bay%2C+California&units=f

Yeah the question is a little odd.

Tides have absolutely nothing to do with the wind - nothing.

The tide question was about predicting the bite. Wasn't sure if the bite was always on in Capitola or just during high tide for example. I'm new to saltwater fishing. I did a lot of fishing at Lake Chabot when I was younger and the bite seemed to turn off during long stretches of the day.
