Actually, I have two questions..

1. Is it possible to get the new Elite 4 HDI transducer wires through to the FF mounting area without cutting them?  The hole in the black plastic part of the pod cover (that goes over the SS tube) looks like it might JUST BARELY be big enough to fit the large end of the cable?

2. I love that there is a place to screw a Lowrance transducer straight into the scupper area.  So far I've only seen pics of the older Lowrance transducers in there.  Does anyone know for sure if the new/bigger HDI transducers fit too?

Thanks in advance for your awesomeness...  :smt006

Good questions!
But definitely DON'T cut off the connector plug on the transducer cord! (to get it to fit through the center hatch cover)

The transducer plug should fit thru the hole.  Route the transducer plug thru FIRST, then route the power cable in from the other side to maximize the space for the transducer cable plug to go thru.  DO NOT cut the transducer cable.  It [can] be done but it is HIGHLY not suggested on a few levels of "why not".  I believe I have aseen a few others on here mount the HDI transducer but I have not done this myself on that yak so I cannon speak from experience.

well here's a Kiwi site where it looks like the plug fits through the hole, assuming that plug is the same size.

And with all the things they thought of on this 'yak, it doesn't seem like they had a plan for batteries and battery cables?

You're talking about this thing right?

Running the transducer plug through that metal tube will be a tight fit, for sure. Worst case scenario, if it doesn't fit...I'd remove the plastic locking nut on the plug, or try to slide it up the cord.

Hi Pat,

I was actually thinking about the part below:

Cuz after you thread the wires through the steel tube (which I think should be fine with that cutout), you still have to get the head of the plug to fit through the long hole on the pod itself!

I'm pretty confident in it now so I'm gonna pull the trigger!...  Now if I can figure out how to rig the battery without drilling a hole...

I found a really good deal on a brand new one so I decided to go that way...  But Sailfish's boat is a great deal with the FF and upgraded seat!  You should buy it!
