I got my 3 mil socks at Sports Chalet in Dublin. Had to order them but fit my 16's with room to spare.

no more internet shopping for now...  the gal on the phone at safari wetsuits in santa cruz says they carry up to sz15 -3 mm -fin socks, and xxl open heels...looks like next friday I'm taking the drive...would much rather try em on than web shop and spend $$ local....maybe they have some nice  decals   :smt005 :smt005 :smt005...loves me some stickers

If the blades aren't long enough or too soft you can buy a fiberglass blade from someone else.

hey thanks man those also look decent and like they would work....lemme see how things go in santa cruz next saturday afternoon.......

ebay is funny...change one tiny word and soemthing shows up...for instance i can search in my ebay for a kz1000 kawasaki and it will show bikes...but it will not show some of the kz1000...If I go and look at every one of the kawasaki motorcycles listed...like 220-420 some days...I will almost always find kz1000 that did not list in the first searches returns...

Those fins you put a link to look different than any i've seen typing 'open heel dive fins'
thanks for the link....

maybe someone else will see this thread one day and find lots of options

so the last part of my dive gear for start up is complete...suit next week...and my first water run...bought all the stuff for my gal too --minus a  gun  which she may or may not want later....and weights which she can rent a weight belt...but she now has everything to learn with me...very exciting and a big relief to have fins and socks for me finally  :smt001

neo sport  3mm wetsuit booties size 16 -will fit up to 17-1/2 comfortably

and Aqua Lung  'Express ADJ'  open heel fins fit the booties and my big feet and have room to adjust...fit and feel is really nice out of the four pairs that Safari Adventures in S.C had ---these were by far the best feel on my feet...

maybe someday someone with 16-17 1/2 feet will see this thread and info in it  on a search and get some info...thanks for all those who gave me tips and links
