A few of us will be shore fishing for rays and sharks tonight from 5-dark in Moss Landing - at the hwy 1 bridge.  Come on out if you can - it's always a good time.

To get there: From the South take the first left after the bridge and stay on the little frontage road that deadends at the water. From the North it is the same thing except, of course, it's your last right before the bridge.

Feel free to PM me if you need more info.  I am bringing my yak and, if other yakkers show up, could be convinced to launch . . .
Fishing is cool

Ya, this should be fun!
We've fished the back of the slough, at Kirby Park 3 times in the last 4 weeks, with varied success. So far we've caught plenty of smallish batrays, and tons of thornback rays. No leopard sharks yet...but my friend just emailed a picture of one he caught there last weekend and it was decent sized.
I'm looking forward to trying a new spot. The bridge area looks fishy. I've spent many hours rounding up bait with sabikis before going out on the ocean for salmon, RF, halibut, etc (from a boat) right under the bridge. Otherwise, we'll be using the standard frozen squid, bag of anchovies, etc. But I'd really like to get some fresh live bait.
I don't think I'll bring the yak this time. If it looks good I will come back later in the week with the yak. But for now...I'm casting from shore.

Hope to see a few friendly faces out there. I'm bringing bait and beer. No BBQ this time tho. See ya there!

If I have time and remember, I will stop by to see how things are going as I commute home.
