Hello all,

My name is Brian. I've been local to Humboldt County for nine years now after graduating from humboldt state university. I've been fishing all of our local waters the whole time and recently kayaking/kayak fishing became a passion of mine.
Just recently I purchased "humboats" from a good friend of mine, many of you may know as "hawk". It has been a name in the community well recognized and I plan to keep the integrity of the business. We offer kayak rentals, tours, lessons and I'm going to start offering kayak fishing trips out of Trinidad, and the surrounding areas which are well known for its trophy fish.
I'm proud to be a part of this community, and I hope to serve many fellow kayakers well. If you have any questions regarding humboats and would like to book a trip or tour with us don't hesitate to shoot me a pm!

Best regards,
                  Brian saxton

Welcome aboard!  Hawk is a good friend - I'm glad he found someone enthusiastic to take over Humboats.  Best of luck and see you around.   :smt001

PS - Hawk was one of the original six of us who started the Gimme Shelter tradition almost 8 years ago.  Are you taking his place on that run?

Eric, I do plan on representing humboats at the gimme shelter tournament this year. I very much look forward to being part of our local kayak fishing crew!  Look for my sign up soon. I do have local "sponsors" who have fished in the tournament in years' past that can vouch on my behalf. Look forward to meeting the whole crew!

-Brian

Welcome aboard.  Brian bought Cameron's hardly used 2012 Xfactor when he switched to an Outback.  We have fished Trinidad and Cape Mendocino a couple of times as well as many times on my boats in the past as well as his friend's boat too.  I will sponsor him as well as well as one or two others for GS8.

Welcome Brian!!

You come highly reccommended as a 'good fisherman' by my buddy Micah Woolworth, steelhead guide in Arcata.  I promptly put a note on my summertime calendar to get up and work the bay for flaties with you, and hopefully Eric. Maybe we can get Micah into a yak also.

Another year goes by with no GS for me, due to the San Clemente Mothership trip upon which I serve as charter master this year.  So an early summer visit.  Humboldt Bay for flat ties the Shelter Cove for Salmon should round out a 3-day trip.

Ironic that I actually lived up there for a little while, Bell Springs Road, locked gates, the whole deal.  And, like a fool  never fished it.  what a Maroon!!

(Did surf Deadman's Black Sands Beach on a semi regular basis though, so I'm  not a total dweeb).

You will love this group Brian, thanks for reaching out, and let us know ow we can help make Humboats even bigger and better.

Give me a call- you can get my # from Micah
