Not to mention the fire fighters are the ones trained to extract people from there vehicles like using the jaws of life. I have both firefighters and chp personel in my family. That's why I cant believe this bullshit.

When, exactly, did the term 'PEACE OFFICER' get retired anyways?  That officer completely lost self control.  Well, not completely.  I suppose he could have gotten away with shooting the fireman.

Looks like a turf or insert the word EGO battle. That's all.

Bad blood between agencies.  Shameful on both parts. When innocent civilians are at jeopardy it time for some action to be taken by the city leaders. Imagine when someone is killed because of this lack of professional courtesy and respect.

The whole mental mindset of 'turf' has me seriously concerned.  That's a GANG term.  So what is the difference here between the cops/firemen issue and any other gang conflict?

The 'turf' belongs to the tax paying citizens, not a cop or a fireman.  The authority of public safety was awarded to these agencies as stewards, to support civility, by the public.  Maybe it's time for the public to take back some of that authority since it's not being managed in a manner that has the public's best interests at heart.

How about we replace "turf" with "ego". In my opinion, it seems like the officers ego got bruised when the Captain didn't comply with his orders.

If the fire department had this secret weapon they would avoid all arguments with law enforcement.
