Welcome to the board.

There's a ton of good resources here---you'll want to start with the safety info. And if you don't find what you're looking for, just ask.

Right on Mike, welcome to the site! Lots of great resources here. The closest Hobie dealer is Kayak Connection in Moss Landing & Santa Cruz. They're a cool shop and support NCKA by organizing tournies & offering club discounts--so be sure to check them out first. As for Hobie models, I'd recommend the Revolution or Outback.

Welcome to NCKA Mike.  Hobie kayaks are great "hand-free" fishing platforms.  Do you have a model in mind?

Welcome Mike!!

For sure check out Kayak Connection, great folks and super friendly. Dave Grigsby and his wife are the owners and I know they would be happy to help you demo and get in the kayak that works best for you.

There's plenty of us in the Santa Cruz/Monterey County area so keep your eyes open for hook ups!

I bought my Hobie AI from Dave @ the Santa cruz location.  GREAT support from him & his staff.  You might catch me sailing around Monterey Bay every now & then on it too.....

What part of Florida are you from?  Lived over there for ~ 5 years on the Panhandle

Hey Mike, welcome to paradise!

Dave from Kayak Connection here - we'd be stoked to help you out with a Hobie demo, or any other make for that matter.  There's definitely pluses and minuses to all the boats out there, it really depends on what kind of fishing you're looking to do and in what type of conditions.  I'm also from Florida, too -  Go Gators! (Next year. . .)

Thanks for the love, Jim and Bill, we appreciate it.

PM me your info and we can set up a time to go over boat models and the NCKA discount!
