Kawasaki's Disease Awareness day was yesterday.  For most people, this is something they've never heard of, for any of you who have followed my posts over the last year you probably have a pretty good idea.  My boy was diagnosed back in November of 2013, since then we've had echo's, CT scans, MRI's, and so many blood draws he barely flinches anymore.  While the disease is not preventable, long-term complications can be avoided with timely treatment (IVIG, the bag of life!)....in our case the doctors did not recognize the symptoms so treatment was delayed.  Lucky for us we have a great team at Lucile Packards Childrens Hospital (neurology, immunology, & rheumatology) that have him living a healthy, happy, normal 5-year old boy life!
Know the symptoms, spread the word.  :smt001

Thanks Jim, he's doing great!  We spent many hours lying in a hospital bed, watching you shoot fish on Youtube!  :smt003

Thanks for helping raise awareness.  I know how hard it can be and scary too in regards to our kids health.  My daughter has a genetic disorder so I can relate a little bit.   Thanks for sharing.

I'm with Mo on this one too. My granddaughter has Cystic Fibrosis. As do I. Genetic diseases the parents take blame upon their selves. I found out years later my parents blamed their selves. But I told them it wasn't their fault. As they had no way of knowing.
