Hey there everyone...my name is Tyler...born an raised in Santa Cruz.  tried moving away twice - once for Cal Poly, once to help open the southern Cali surf tech distribution warehouse...came back every time.  Been fishing out of my kayak for 6 months now...injured a few discs in my neck which makes surfing near impossible so I had to find another way to get out on the water.  Got 2 Hali this season so far...one 36" one 32", first real dragons I have ever slayed...Huge thanks for the welcome and tips for a greenhorn has to go out to Allen Bushnell, what a heartfelt individual.  Going to keep rockin the minimal gear as long as possible, gaff, dive stringer, knife, pliers, rod and polymer squid.  No fish finder. Best to everyone out there.  Peace and kind regards.

Welcome Tyler!!!

There's plenty of us in SC and Monterey County so keep an eye out for hookups or post up when you plan on going and I'm sure you will get plenty of company!

Thanks Jim...I head out from Mitchell's cove fairly often, usually head north past natural bridges...maybe I'll catch you out there someday.

Awesome! Nice fish dude!!

I dove Mitchells Cove and a little bit North of there a couple times this past year looking for halibut...didn't find one but it was still fun!

:smt006   Tyler,       Welcome to the site.    I'll be looking for a guy in a kayak with SNS   ( Stiff Neck Syndrome )     I know the feeling,  broke mine mountain biking years ago.              Good job on the Halibut hunt.  Been a tough year it seems for those beasts.

Whoa!    Thanks to Jim, baitman, sailfish, e2g, fishkraft, beer hunter and sin coast...yeah I ran my knife down that Hali and said duh, they did finish the stairs at Mitchell's (what an f ing waste of city money...not to mention them being closed for a month) the stairs were fine before...now they're pretty.  So Ruben when an where is your tournament?  I've never done anything like that, sounds like a bunch of good people hanging out.  Thanks again for the welcome everyone!  BTW I paddle a blue mars kayak and I do have SNS (stiff neck syndrome - herniated c4 c5)... Fish and game came creeping up on me in the fog yesterday and I couldn't turn to see them properly until they were alongside me...lol...hopefully I'll be able to do some hunting with some of you.  Kinds regards everyone.  Peace and respect.
