Supposedly the calico bass population runs from Baha all the way up to Washington.  Have any of you ever seen, caught, or heard of them along the Sonoma Coast?

I'd love to catch one if they're around!

Furthest north I ever seen em is Capitola. But there are small isolated populations of them in Monterey, Carmel, and Big Sur. So maybe they can be found in other locations northward. I'd look for a protected, south-facing cove that holds the warm water inside during the normal NW swell. But calicos w/b pretty rare north of SF.

Shark_bait has shot a few in Monterey bay.  They don't look like the typical socal ones, more silvery.

I've seen several for a split second in Monterey/Carmel, and better divers than me have shot them:

But I've never heard of them that far North...but that don't mean there aren't a few isolated populations...
