I looked at it on google maps and I was surprised at how short it was. It looks like you could walk back if you needed to. Is it normal to drift it once or paddle back up and repeat until you get your limit?

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope.  ~John Buchan

usually we drift down pitching spinners, and start fishing the whole area of the pumphouse and down from there to the J st bridge.  I just fish that stretch and when i'm done i paddle home.

OK OK. Get your limit or until you are loading the kayaks in the dark, which ever comes first.  :smt044

Like bmb said ar launch at Howe and fish the stretch down river or up doesn't matter....better fishing down I think.

I have fished this stretch for a few years now and have always done well.

One of my favorite ways is to park a pickup vehicle at disco park and launch at Howe killer views an you get away from everything. My biggest salmon to date wa taken from that drift.

Takes about 3 to 4 hours if you go strait through. I have had many days where we launched in the dark and landed at disco in the dark so plenty of good fishing spots in between that require further investigation.

Let me know when you wanna go for it ill give you a guided tour.
Where did he go george

Sweet. What's a good guess on when the salmon will be there?  My wife has the the weekend of 8/24 and 9/21 free between now and the middle of October. I might be able to bring a buddy instead if the schedules don't fit and I can use what I learn when I take my wife out. Thanks ken

They put the weir's up in Nimbus in expectancy of the big run leaving the gate area. Prob the next 2 weeks should get going depending on how much water they allow through nimbus. Right now the water is really warm.
