Best bet is a decent hardtail 29r size large for your frame. 29rs roll faster on the road than 26 all else being equal. Covering 15-20 miles is no problem especially if the rear tire treads are low profile like a Small Block Eight from Kenda. Decent knobs in front for control on dirt and rock.

+1

Spot on for that use, riding in and out of spots.  You could of course also go crazy and get a cargo bike- then you could even carry a short sot or sup for hitting those spots.

I'm having to wait. Thanks for the offers fellas. These furlough days are t allowing me to replace my bike for a while.
Plus it's salmOn season so I gotta get some more gear! And a new pole.

Priorities!
Matt
