or maybe the easier question is, who among you is not?

tell me how would you rig up for our local albacore?  number one, i do not want to have one of you guys throw a gaff into your leg when we are 50 miles out.

watching this guy, my first concern was that the gaff was going to slip and he would wind up sinking it into his thigh.  the spear was interesting.  it did not look like it had much of a barb on it, but it seemed to subdue the fish quickly.  i know that some guys net albacore when fishing from a boat.  a net might be saver.

Wild eye anchovies on a casting rod, and two rapala squid lures trolling behind.
Most of our albacore you can tail grab, especially the peanuts, but I would probably bring a gaff.

If mothershipping , drop the yaks after the first troll hookup. Agree on a general course, then have the boat spiral around us as we keep that courses big mile loop for the boat.
Kayaks set up a spread- like we do for sturgeon, all staying in a nice row on course.
