So..... I have been a part of this site for just 15 days and here is what has happened:

Within the first few days, my introductory post was flooded with positive feedback and advice along with a warm welcome. I received many offers to join in with the MADNESS!!!

I was lucky enough to have RacinRob take me out to a lake that I didn't know existed that is just 20 minutes from my house. I was fortunate enough to board his Wilderness Systems 160 for an afternoon of chasing down some bass. With my limited experience fishing from a kayak, it was everything that I was looking for, seriously amazing!! Unfortunately for me, all I could catch were some aggressive blue gill while dropping Senkos and Cranks, it was kinda weird, but I was happy that I hooked something.... Rob showed his true skills by landing some good sized largemouth, one of them hitting the 20" mark!! Overall it was a great introduction to the sport, Thanks Rob!

And here I am today, 15 days later: all I can think about is getting a yak and getting on the water. I find myself interrupting the awesome stories my wife is telling me to look up mods for the kayak that I am going to get. My phone is maxed out with tabs opened up on tips, tricks and specs. My eyes are opened to this amazing world, and I know that I haven't even scratched the surface. I am itching to pull the trigger very soon!! I will probably buy the kayak new, but any advice or info on where to get car racks for a 4 door sedan really cheap and a quality paddle would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks again for such an awesome experience already

-Billy

Glad you had a good time. I got lucky catching those hawgs. ;-) I have some paddles here depending on the boat you get and how long you need it. REALLY good paddles for a good price. I may be able to hook you up with a rack too. Do you have factory cross bars? If not, eBay can be your friend.

yeah the people on this site are crazy nice. my initial experience was prety similar, everything from the intruductory post down to "Rider" taking me out to Lake Natoma to teach me how to self rescue (which is turning out to be the most impotant thing taught to me so far.

the people on this site are great, respectful (for the most part so far lol) but they will genuinely help you because it almost seems that they all realize that if someone doesnt get trained correctly any one of them might end up having to save you....so you might as well teach them correctly so that everyone can enjoy their day haha

This site and the people are awesome. My experience has been the same !  I believe folks share their knowledge because they love the sport and want you to be successful and safe on the water too. I am glad I got into kayak fishing and looking forward to meeting more of its members.

Bill you sure have been bite by the bug, and it only gets worse!  :smt044
Other than my local group up here in The Redding, both Rider, and RacinRob were some of the first people that I met at my first NCKA event, Black Butte. They brought Jesse ( GrimKeeper ) and I right into mix and in minutes it was like being with old friends. This is truly one of the best sites I belong too. WTTM  :smt006
