I got dumped there a few times when the surf came up.
Once with crab traps and gear with minimal losses.
Now I bail and hang on to the back of my yak if i feel like I'm gonna loose it.
Might see you there.

I can't make it. I was just "reminded" of some other obligations.

To those that can't make this weekend, lets set up another one in a couple weeks, maybe the 15th or 16th

Sounds like so much fun. Wish I could be there. Good on you Craig for getting this going. Something we could all benefit from. Bring a camera!

P.S. thanks for the wipeout montage, a great way to start my morning. Been there done that, will probably do it several times again, but its always more fun watching someone else eat it.

Thanks Dan! I would be cool to organize another one with you. Your water and paddle experience is tops. Jim Martin also. Lets try to do one again in the coming month or later this month.

Thanks Craig,        I'd drive up today, but down with this damm flu!       Not a cold or sniffle all friggin year.

I'd love to get out and test my Raptor along side similiar yaks.    Let's do it.

Craig, your crash & burn day should be a lot of fun (and maybe humbling). Kudos to you for continuing this training.  Hopefully some of the less experinced folks will take advandate of your outing.  I love practicing in rough water/surf zones, because you never know, a miscalculation of the weather or water conditions can ruin your day.  When I operate in these condions or think conditons may change for the worst I put on my fin belt in case I am knocked out of the yak and can not catch it. Here is a pic of my belt I wear for work and play. Didn't mean to jack your thread but self rescue is to me is paramount.  Wish I could make it down for the fun but pesky work this weekend. Looking forward to the vids and stories.  Have Fun be Safe

Maybe we should start having crash and burn contests.

I think we all could use a refresher in surf landings. I know a few people that want to hit Big Sur this Summer. :smt002

Never got in the water this morning. 30 plus surfers at the south end and it was looking like a clusterfuck waiting to happen. Went and saw Joel after that. Nice to meet ay Paul and Tiny, its always a pleasure. You are old school dude. We are going to try again when the tide is high in the am and the surfers might be up by taco bell then.
