Ok, pardon my ignorance, but what is a "Kage"? Is that a tool for dispatching the fish instead of thumping it, you stab it? And why would you want it to have threading on it? Curious minds want to know. I've put together a "pac hali kit" myself. Got to use it on a couple local halis last year in Tomales. It worked great. I'll put up a little post on it soon. I had the good fortune to be present last year when Randal got that 50 lber, and I learned a great deal from that experience. And he was lucky he had company and a VERY cooperative halibut. Also talked with the guy who said he had one up to the boat a couple times that was in his words "the size of a picnic table!!!"  :jawdrop  Said it truly scared him and he was glad it finally broke off, because he had no idea how to handle it. So when I made my kit I made it heavy duty. Those critters can be like trying to wrassle a bull...
