If you want to catch bait you can try to use a sabiki. I've caught mackerel, smelt, sardines, and herring in Tomales....but there's been times where I've wasted my whole day trying to jig up bait.

I don't believe you.  You never go all day without catching fish.   :smt005

I originally posted a launch time of 9:00, but I'm gonna shoot for 8:00.

iwindsurf is still calling for very light breeze 'til 2:00PM.

Dustin,

I took your advice! See you guys there! Any tips on what kind of stuff I should bring? Or should I just Google "halibut rig"... I know some simple rigs but maybe there's a secret weapon.

Justin

I just buy premade halibut rigs at OPS. I know that is kinda far for you. But ive also seen them at walmart. Im sure your local tackle shop should have them

Wife's out of town and the sitter can't come until 8:00. I'll catch up to you. Save a fatty flatty for me.

If anybody can bring some extra chovies or squid it'd be much appreciated. I didn't get a chance to get out and get bait.  :smt010
