I'm assuming this is for Hali's? I'd be up for that, I could get some bait from Keith's.

Right on Ben! If you would, grab some for me too. I'll bring my live well.

just got my hog trough in the mail today. I'll see he has a dozen shiners, more than that they'll die. I have a cast net, anywhere I can cast for smelt?

Sunday is my birthday, and I am desperately trying to get "permission". Never got a halibut before. Can we drop crab pots in the same area?

Dude, it's your birthday. TELL her you're going! Hehe.

I plan on just dropping one pot for the hell of it.

Also, others have, but I've never caught anything in Tomales from my yak but baitfish and bat rays.

Dustin,

I took your advice! See you guys there! Any tips on what kind of stuff I should bring? Or should I just Google "halibut rig"... I know some simple rigs but maybe there's a secret weapon.

I just use a three way rig for live bait and a Carolina rig for frozen bait.

Keep in mind you can use more than one rod in Tomales, so you can bring a few different set-ups.

If you want to catch bait you can try to use a sabiki. I've caught mackerel, smelt, sardines, and herring in Tomales....but there's been times where I've wasted my whole day trying to jig up bait.
