Herb, Now I am the one who is going to say WOW.  It is almost 90 miles from my place, a little longer than I really want to drive.  I think I owe you an apology, I maneuvered you away from what you really wanted to do which is go ocean fishing.  If you can, that is what you should do.  There will be 100's of other times we can hook-up on the water (somewhere in the middle).  Have a great day out there.  Shelley   :fish

According to NOAA the swell is coming down. Now only 5-6 at HMB. Little wind which is good. May be down more by tomorrow too.

Shelley, make sure you are prepared for the ocean before you go. Wet/dry suit, and know how to get back in your kayak in the event of any mishaps. Also, make sure you are with someone at all times since it is your first time out there. radio would be good too.

Rob,  All great advise, it is going to be awhile before I get salty.  I have been swimming in the ocean all my life and it still scares me.  :fish

Thanks for the heads up on the forecast Rob! Definitely going back to hmb tomorrow. Phispood would be there I believe.

Eyecooktoo, take your time. It took me about 2 years of freshwAter fishing before I hit the salt. Took the class and everything, really prepared myself. Having other ncka bros on the wAter with you helps a lot also. I learned a whole lot from other people on this site.

Safety class would be great for you to feel more secure on the salt. But IMHO, lakes scare me more that the Ocean. I sink like a rock on lake's.

I know you will be wearing a vest but here is one little tip.  I have been swimming since I was two and when I fell in during a tournament I got completely disoriented, that is what happens to almost everybody.  Stay calm and watch which way your bubbles are going then follow them, you will be fine.  :fish
