Sweet!    Going down to Ensenada in a couple of weeks. I thought I would take a panga out of there. Would you know how far off the coast you were fishing.

Thanks John

It was a ways offshore at a place referred to as the "ten ten". PM killemandgrillem for the details. The zone is a 5 mile box.

What a great report and pix.  It's time to buy a new freezer--or for all the fish you catch Scott, time to add on.

I want to point out that Scott pulled in (3) 30#+ albies on a spinning rod and reel--very impressive feat. I could see that by the third 35# albie Scott was getting worn down but he muscled through it like a champ!

It'll take skills and patience to land a big fish on light tackle but it's more fun!  Unfortunately most charters want us to land the fish ASAP so they can put more catches on the boat.

Good thing we were on a private boat. I'm sure it's plenty of fun on light tackle. I was using a small Avet so it took quite a while to pull in the slug.

a little known fact is that Scott uses fishing enhancing drugs.  At least I like to tell myself that.  Otherwise he is just a fishing machine that kicks my ass every time.  :smt002

Uh yeah, the third Albie was the biggest of the 3 and kicked my butt. No sleep and fishing with an 8' trout spinning rod left me second guessing my tackle decision. I actually palmed the spool when I got to tuna circles just to have it over, one way or another once I saw it was an Albie.  :smt005 :smt005 I thought the superior casting distance and accuracy of the spinning rod and light fluoro gave me the the best chance of hooking a BFT. It sure was fun. :smt003

Scott, Vu it was a blast and I enjoyed your company a bunch! Great company, weather and fishing... what else could a man want?! It was the least I could do for the epic salmon trip which I will never forget... Next trip we will get on those Bluefin, pardon their rudeness!
