I've seen mounts made out of PVC but this is the wedge mount from hobie.

I love my elite except of at gs6 where it didnt turn off when i hit it an it drained my battery an fished blind lol

I original did the same; but then thought about "what if I wanted to use a sail", so I ended up mounting the fishfinder on the kayak rail using a Scotty flush mount and the Scotty Fishfinder bracket. it brings the fishfinder a little bit closer to me; making it easier to see and reach. Plus I use the Ram ball now for my "vanity" camera (gopro)...

The kit for the elite comes with a 1" ball mount for the yak if i wanna move it closer to in sure ill use em both just depending how much im messin with it
