If you get tired of trolling and want to chill & soak bait...try this: go hit up the fishfood dispenser in the harbor. For 25 cents, you get a handful of fishfood pellets...to feed those giant planter trout that swim around inside the harbor (it's like they know fishing is prohibited inside there LOL). Then grind up the pellets and mix it up w/some powerbait dough.
Man I miss that place. I hope you have an excellent adventure--and don't forget to take lots of pics of the scenery too!

That's some good intel! I was going to suggest some garlic craw scent but the pellets would probably work better, troll near creek mouths and remember to rip the rod every once in a while to trigger strike, my coworker fishes twin and said it can be tough but is rewarding, good luck

Thanks Sin... never been there but looking at Google Earth I assume you are talking about the harbor at the west end of the upper lake.  Very cool advise.  Diroblo, I love fishing inlets for trout, and will be sure to give it a try.  At Lake Trinity that is just about all I ever do.  We plan on fishing the East Walker as well.  This trip has a feeling of epicausity to it for sure.  We are staying at the resort, and renting a little PB for the upper lake, and I am bringing along my two outbacks so we can fish the lower lake in those.  Damn!!! I can't wait!!!!!!!

My bad, the marina I was talking about is on lower Twin. They had these pellet fishfood dispensers like you'd see at a petting zoo (or at certain fish hatcheries). I bet they're still in use. But the fish would stack up right in front of the dispensers [and I'm talking BIG stupid trout up to 8lbs]. You can't fish inside the marina, of course. But still an amazing sight.
At upper Twin, definitely walk around the inlet and fish that area. Twice I've seen bears in the creek so be careful. And it's real marshy so bring bugspray.
Here's a random set of pics from Twin: http://www.westernpaddling.com/twin_lakes_(bridgeport).htm

Another cool thing to do is checkout the monster trout in the creek connecting upper & lower Twin lakes. No fishing allowed in there--but you might get to see some jumbo brownies spawning near the ladders.
Geez, I'm gettin all worked up just thinking about it! That's it...I can't take it...I'm gonna look at the family calendar and plan a trip for September!

True, but no fishing w/in 200yds of any fish ladders (or something like that)...and that's where all the fish stack up (you can view them from the bridge crossing the crik).

You know, there a group of NCKAers who make an annual pilgrimage to the Bridgeport area and they have shared/posted some epic adventures. If ya haven't searched the site for em yet--do it. I always look forward to seeing those reports.

I looked before and didn't find much... maybe i failed in my search parameters.  As far as the creek between the lakes... I see what you are saying.  It's "open" except where otherwise in violation, which leaves little creek for fishing.  Either way, I am just out of my mind with anticipation of this trip.

East side also posts a lot of signs where areas are closed to fishing so hopefully its clear, otherwise I would contact a local guide or even DFG for clarity!

Check the regs on the East Walker before fishing there.  This is a Blue Ribbon fishery - no bait.  I think no treble hooks and barbless too.  The E. Walker is a good spot for fly fishing but it can get very busy.  The rocks in the EW are like slimy basketballs so bring your studded wading boots.

Love that area , don't forget the OFF  5million the skeeters can be as big as trout depending on the summer conditions and current temps. my ex's family owns a fishing lodge there. sounds like the brothers covered all the gear quite well nothing to add there.

I've looked up all the fisheries in the area and will print all specific info to have with me when I am fishing.  EW is artificial and barbless... no mention of single hooks though.  Felt bottom boots are my go to for the slimey stuff.

I've heard about the skeeters... they are the same way up in the Alps when we backpack... huge and hungry... thanks for the heads up!
