YT are mostly spring and summer. They will hold if the water stays warm and there is always a few home guards that are cougt year round but they are few and far between. If you want to go and not break the bank on a hotel or time share there is a place called camp land on the bay. It's a camp ground on mission bay that has tent sites. You could walk your yak down and fish mission bay at night and it's 10min from the LJ launch. If your going for a few days you might consider trying all that SD has to offer. Like bone fish in the south bay, spotties, calico bass in the kelp, ect. If you go in october through march you can hoopnet for lobster too
