I'm heading out of Capitola on Saturday or Sunday. 6:15ish (kids schedule depending, but one day for sure). If I get my act together I may try bounce ball trolling for halibut, which I haven't tried before, or just head to the Point. Company would be welcome!

I'll be going out on Sunday morning with a friend. Never launched out of Capitola but we're thinking about launching from the pier. I'll be on a mango OK T13 and have my radio on 69.

Take hwy 1 north, to 41 st. left down to capitola rd. left follow all the way to the end is the wharf. Launch on north side of wharf. Could be some beach break but not bad. You can launch off wharf but dont no what they charge....good luck

Launching on the north side of the wharf is pretty protected.
If you choose to launch from the wharf there is no charge. Drive out to where the rental skiffs are staged on the wharf, unload then haul your kayak down the ramp.then take your vehicle and park up in the 12 hr spaces up on the cliffs. Don't be afraid to ask the boat and bait guys for directions they even have a photo copied map of the nearby reefs.
I may be out there too depends on the wind it's really blowing right now btw.

Heya Ricci--you've been given good info on directions and details. I usually beach launch rather than from the wharf, but if the waves are up I'll go from the wharf. Conditions today were blustery and could be similar tomorrow more than Sunday. A link is at the bottom. I'll probably still give tomorrow a go unless the conditions tell me otherwise, in which case I'll go Sunday.

I'm in a beige Hobie OB. Hope to see you!
