1st one work good til it got dropped in 2ft of water for 15 seconds. It came up dead. I called Corbra and they sent out a replacement. That one didn't work at all!
I sent it back with a note to scrap the unit.

Thanks guys for the replies!  I am going to most likely get the Cobra HH 330 Floating Handheld VHF Radio.  its around $130.  Has anyone used that model before.

You can get a Standard Horizon for about the same price.  Mine has proven to be "bullet-proof" over the the years.

I think he has the same one that I have the 750S.  I've been using mine for about 3 years now and very happy with its performance.  Below is the link for more details about this model:

Mine's an older HX500S.  It's waterproof but it doesn't float like some of the newer models.  I always keep it clipped to my PFD so flotation isn't an issue for me.  All of the reviews I have read indicate the highest level of satisfaction with the Standard Horizon brand.  I will buy another when my current one dies.

Thanks guys!
Sailfish, Unfortunately the site  you sent me is out of stock.  It's the best price I've seen.
By the way you had a mini x malibu right?  I am trying to add  a rod extender to the front two holders. Do you know of any that will fit?
thanks again
Ken

I used to own the Mini-X but it's now belongs to a good friend here on NCKA.  There are plenty of room on the Mini-X to add a flush Scotty rod holder.  I'll check to see if I still have pictures of my old Mini-X with flush Scotty rod holder installed and post here for you to see.

If it's not water proof don't buy it.
