Classic case of Hangfire!
Maybe that's your new handle. :smt003

My dad told me a story about a new recruit on the firing line at Fort Ord back in the day.
He had a misfire, a 2nd Lt. training officer, one of dad's buddies, came over, grabbed the BAR and looked into the muzzle...
Last thing he ever did.

You are lucky bro!

Looking at the case and box of ammo. No warning about misfires or rejection standard. I am going to contact them, see if they can provide info, on the box, about how to examine ammo for discard. Remmington already does. I dont want it to happen to anyone else. I know what to do in a misfire, but truly thought, I just didnt chamber a round. In hind site, if the shell had turned 180°, I would be dead. Period. If a shell looks bad, in any way, or just feels unlucky, take a knife, cut it open, dump powder out, throw it out. I hope people learned from my mistake.
Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.

Glad to hear your ok rich. Close calls always make you think.

Once fishing a private pond at a friends property I heard a bang a slpash then a bullet whiz close by me. I turned to where it came from after hittin the dirt as fast as I could. There stood my buddy holding a .22 rifle, he apologized and explained he was shooting at a muskrat and using fragmentating bullets but that didn't make me feel better given this is a two acre pond. I laid into him using extensive vocabulary, I'm no longer welcome on the property but probably wouldn't have gone back either way.

Safety saftety safety with firearms.
