Hey Vintage and Moochie boy:  Good recovery for both of you!  haha.

Vintage, what's your real name, so we can address you as buds?

I hope your idea suceeds, I am always up for another remote kayak fishing experience, for sure!

Be sure to check in PM with Polepole....the most experienced kayak-fishing traveler and remote guide  on the West Coast.

Well, to sort of address your question here are things that I would like to see as a traveler.  1.  Is it easy?  All travel arrangements from the point of landing in country to leaving should be entirely handled or detailed so your customers have no problems at all.  2.  Quality of accommodation: clean, operable - especially the plumbing.  Try to keep the roaches down if you get my drift.  Food prep and ingredients should be top tier.   Access to top notch medical care regardless of situation, including if necessary, emergency air transport to appropriate facilities- you don't need to charge for it but should have secured the means to provide it if necessary well in advance.  I've seen it organized down to the level of nearest airstrip in the bush for fixed wing evacuation to the main airport for charter straight to a German hospital.  Time from injury in an African jungle in the middle of nowhere to being in the air for bound for said hospital with attending physician: 120 minutes max.  The diplomatic arrangements were the hardest to procure.  With any luck, you'll have facilities in country and can avoid that.  On the fishing part itself, since it is for yaks offshore do you have appropriate search, rescue and safety procedures and equipment in place?  If I was going out in foreign waters, I would probably want an epirb on my yak.  Depending on the part of Asia, what are you going to do for pirates?  Nearshore crocs?  Salties migrate there by chance?  I'm sure you've addressed all of this, but since you seem to be looking for market perceptions, that's what I'm thinking offhand....

you brought up things that I had been researching currently ( good call on the EPIRB)  Once "Friendly" with the local law enforcement on the water as well as land, I'm more than sure that I can have the pirates covered, I have travelled to more places than I care to remember that had me pretty up there on the "Oh $h{t factor (Ex- Military Police).  The emergency evac is something that is not the easiest to get info about.  the time difference and no urgency to respond to inquiries kinda sucks, but..it is what it is.  I know that I am gonna have to get what ever 1-2 guys I employ rescue breathing/CPR certified.  and definitely gonna break out the "'Ol smart book" and just give them the full basic training first aid to the letter.  I wouldnt mind and definitely will have somebody get EMT cert as well as get certified myself for good measure.  Great power on the mothership will alleviate confrontations as well, you gotta get to me first to cause problems. but you raise valid points.  anyone else have suggestions regarding this?

It seems like you are getting a lot of good information here. It would be nice if you could reciprocate by giving some more info about yourself and your business.

In the Philippines there has been many expats that tried getting in to that type of business but have failed due to competition from the local boatmen that charge fairly cheap for the whole day.  Usually for less than $100 you can have the entire boat with 3 crews.  They setup everything for you and even cook your catch for you at the beach.  The outriggers are fairly decent but don't have the electronics like radios, gps for safety.  No fish finders either.  But because it is so cheap and seems like a fun thing to fish in, most of the tourist would forego their safety.  I will be in the island of Siargao in February to do some fishing.  There is an expat there that has a well equipped boat.  I'll ask him how he's able to keep his business going.  Oh, another come on with any kind of business there is a great body massage after a day of fishing.   :smt002

Fair enough,

My name is Al Ayala.  What pays the bills is working for a marketing company here in central fla.  Nothing Glam about that.
On the side, I do alot of different things 'cause I got lucky in the creativity department.   :smt003
If its creative,  I wanna learn about it.  That's how I got into photography taking pictures of all the places the army took me and got good at it. ( And found a way to turn the hobby into cash doing modeling portfolios for $500.- a pop all complete bio, shots, contact and binder completed in 4 hours) with so many photos of places I've been, I'd show pics to friends and everybody loved them and someone suggested I sell them. (DING! There goes that money bell again, finding a way for the hobby to pay for itself.)
Hence, Vintage 1 Photography and Ayala Gallery Images online Giclee art gallery selling my art.  I worked for a company called EDU Debt Solutions ( now defunct thanks to the US lowering all the student loan interest rates) that consolidated student loans, they were a go between for the student to lower their rates, renew their grace, defferment and forbearance for free (while getting 30% of the total loan value from the new lender) and I revamped their whole pitch, rebuttals, and intra office tracking.. which pushed me from being on a phone to being the site operations manager for SE Asia on site in Manila (  :smt006sweet for the single spanish guy :smt006) People talk, my name got around, and people started asking me what I think about this and that.  That turned into offering me cash to provide lead sourcing, scripting, web design, etc.  Somebody i went to school with remembered I produced a dance track a thousand years ago that did fairly well, so when they asked me to mixdown a song they were workin' on I did.
Simply put, I have a product I'm going to market soon that is gonna make a ton of cash (not fishing) I want to find something to throw some money at that will make $. why?  because I love to fish! :smt044 and I love to make money :smt044

You forgot dob...ssn...home address :)

I got some input.  In that kind of price range I want want one of two trips. Spartan fish camp, whack the fish, lots of em and  stack fillets, including high quality fish processing and shipping, a freezer filler equivalent to a long range trip).  Or resortish that's gonna offer fishing (doesn't have to be a whack n stack trip) and quality entertainment or adventures including surfing, some geographical site seeing and/or nightlife.
