I bring a can of corn and toss a hand full out in the water you will be fishing. Hook 5 or 6 kernels to a small/sharp hook/egg sinker. Prop the rod on a stick and never leave it or take your eye off it. Carp will come around and maybe give you one nibble before they take off (with your fishing pole) if you're daydreaming.

Bring in the carp after a great fight. Gut it. Use the intestines and string it on a bigger hook/sinker rig. Throw it back and wait for Mr. Channel Cat.

It depends!  Where are you fishing for them?
