I like the idea of letting seniors or disabled use small motors. It keeps it inclusive. That way old guys like Craig have a chance.

Do you consider a Hobie AI a tri maran, sailboat or kayak?

Not trying to make waves. I just think it's a valid question thats going to play out relating to many kayak tourneys.

Looks like a Kayak to me (even Hobie lists it under their Kayaks) :smt002
The spirit of these events is to encourage new anglers to join the fun.
As long as it is a Kayak I will encourage it.

"The old dude won 3rd place with the electric motor Eric"

Must have been 2 electric yaks out there - The one I knew of was a friend of mine from Fresno (never cought a fish)
Third place went to Bob Shaver (also from Fresno) who was paddling a Native (non motorized).

See Ya There,

Are you allowing sail boats to enter this event?

Good question Sharky.  :smt002
Last year an electric motor powered kayak was allowed to compete.....knocking me out of third place in the process.  :smt010
If electric motors and sails are to be allowed I would like to know in advance so I will have time to pick up my motor & sail.  :smt004

I wont be there to bust your sac so dont worry. :smt006 :smt044 :smt044 :smt044

 Cool!!! I'll be sure to bring my motorized yakasauras :smt044 :smt044 :smt044 :smt044 :smt005 :smt005 :smt005 (no really!!!)
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

So a kayak power-assisted by a sail is okay to use for this event?

Sail or Electric = Yes :smt001
But not an outboard :smt009
That would make it a P.B.
(and they have enough events to fight at)
