Costa Del Mar - save your eyes, not your spare change!   :smt004

+1 on that note. I was happy to get a good report on my eyes during my last checkup. I've been around the water and worked outside for 50 + years and the Doc. said it was due to wearing good sunglasses.
Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.

Switch between $200 Oakley Racing Jackets (non-polrzed) and $120 Oakley Half Jackets (polarized).

The racing jackets are very light with good coverage, and extremely comfortable, but don't reduce all the glare.  If they had polarized lenses, they would be 100% awesome for fishing, and they are pretty good as is.  Too bad they are discontinued.

I've even surfed with the half jackets on.  Very very light, but coverage is a little on the small side.  But these  suckers stay put, let me tell ya.  Great optics.

I've gone through some knock offs and I don't like them.  Construction is generally much less favorable, i.e., lenses popping outta frame, finish rubbing off temple pieces, etc.

As with rod and reel, you can probably get by with el cheapo for a while.  But if/when failure, it could mean more alot more than losing some dumb fish, know what I'm sayin'?

I HAD 3 pairs of Smiths. One pair is underwater at Del Monte after playing and rolling the kayak in the surf Saturday. What a dipshit I am. Forgot I had them around my neck. the croakies? Still have those though haha. Smiths are good. I did see the Natives at Claveys 55 bucks. Look good too.

I had bunch of Oakley in past (still have few for casual wear).  very cool looking & sporty but too fit to my face (too close) that fogs up quick.
Ray-Ban has very good lens but even the newer plastic ones it's still pretty heavy.
I had Hobie one & it was actually pretty nice (had side lenses) but got washed when I was in Bodega (so did the Columbia one too).
Work requires me to wear Polarized (it's in the protocol), so they got us bunch of cheapo ones ($20 max), but they're not too comfortable wearing all day long everyday.   I wore Smith for work but still little tight & heavy.
Really liking Natives but dropped one in Amador (~40 deep)...  Yes, they sink even thought made plastic... :smt010  They're very light & fit well & sporty and most of all the anti-fog holes are AWESOME!!! :smt004
