I have a HumminBird Fish Finder 160. With my T-13 I have a Scupper hole location for the transducer. My complete unit cost about $120-$130 as I remember. Of course the shape of the transducer does not fit the scupper area. A replacement part from HumminBird XTH-9-20-P costs $99. Is there help out there in what to do?

One option might be to install it inside the hull, there are a couple of threads 'how to'; draw back would be the tempuration function would not be entirely accurate, maybe a couple of degress off.

Here's one of my installs:

If it's a new unit I think HB has an exchange program
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

I was looking at the same unit and the guy at Bass Pro said the same thing. Get in touch with humming bird and they will exchange it. There may be an up charge, but at least its better than nothing.

Yeah, Humminbird will exchange your transom or thru-hull TD for the scupper-compatible TD. I did it a year ago and it was free (Humm 525 FF). The benefits are temp and more-accurate readings. But I wouldn't pay $99 for that benefit....if they require you pay for the scupper TD, then consider mounting in inside the hull, either permanently with Goop or temporarily w/a pool-noodle reservoir.
If you have one of the transom-mount TDs, you can get it to fit inside the transducer scupper w/some McGuyver work. In fact, I believe GB2 has a thread about adapting an Eagle/Lowrance TD to fit the Ocean Kayak transducer scupper.
