Allen, thank you again for helping me set up my revo like yours.
I was wondering how long is your anchor rope for SPB?
I'm thinking mine might be too short.
If the anchor rope is too short will you be rocked more by wind waves? jim

Just over sixty feet, tied to a five pound folding anchor with a three pound folding one on the back of that.

So how did you attach the straps for the pedals for surf launches?  I only see the outside view.

hmmm, not sure what you are asking  .... but if it's where I store the fins during landings/launches?   I slip the bottom ends of the fins under the OK strap but they are not secured other than the usual leash. ? ??

Sorry I meant, how did you attach the OK straps to your Revo?  I am guessing you placed 2 pad eyes somewhere inside the hull.  Can't really tell from the picture.

Thanks Allen. Maybe that is part of my problem. I have been using like only 30 feet or so and noticed my yak moving around a lot more than yours while we were both on anchor. One year later and I'm still trying and still learning. jim

Jim I experience the same thing sometimes depending on the wind direction. My rope is about 60 ft also. It does make a diff I think. Next time I am bringing a small plastic bucket to keep the bow from swinging. the PB's use these alot in a acrosswind. Or a wind blowing against the tide movement.

Now, it's time to get started on the new ProAngler demo boat. Been pretty busy lately but found the time to mount a real sophisticated river anchor set up....took about ten minutes to install including a cam cleat. Next it's a couple Ram tube rod holders that I will mount to the lower part of the seat side so I will "feel" when the fish hits. Then glue a piece of foam inside the hull for the transducer and that'll be about it....except where do I find a bean bag chair for all those long days sitting on anchor for sturgeon :smt003

Find yourself a tall lanky kid to help as lots of fun was had lining up all the holes and installing big washers and nylox nuts all while avoiding the control cables.

I have on of those, but he's away at college  :smt002

I really appreciate the post and tips Allen. I was a little stumped as to how I wanted to install my rod holders. I ended up cutting a couple pieces of aluminum plate for backing, beat them to conform to the hull,  and  epoxied the washers into place in advance. The only real difference for my install is I didn't like how much curvature was under the ram ball itself, so I formed a thin piece of cutting board to the hull as well to allow the ram ball base to be against a flat surface and not deform the hull. It's solid as a rock.

Interestingly, one ram ball was all metal, the other had the hollow stem I've seen before. I forget who posted the idea of tapping the hollow fellows and inserting a SS bold, but I did that, and seated it with epoxy as well.

Thanks,

Ben
