I’ve perfected a new recipe and thought I’d share it. This is How to Make a Dick of Yourself on NCKA:

1. Browse the General Forum of NCKA until you find an interesting yet slightly off-color thread.

2. Add a mild-flavored comment and stir the pot.

3. Simmer overnight.

4. The next morning, add some spicier comments to the pot, stir, simmer, then go to work.

5. Come home, and without giving any thought to your own past actions or philosophies, throw in some critical, pompous, arrogant, and judgmental comments that could be easily turned on yourself by someone with the technical know-how to use the “search” feature of NCKA in order to find some pics that you posted a while back that show a bunch of f***ing ab shells on the wall behind you and therefore render you a hypocrite.

6. At this point, the recipe virtually cooks itself. Just stir the pot some more, bring to a raging boil and voila! You’ve made a dick of yourself in six easy steps.
Pair with a tender ego.

If done properly, you will wind up embarrassed and looking and feeling like a major league asshole. Enjoy!

Seriously, I just want to apologize to Dustin for going off in that other thread a few days back. It’s easy sometimes to criticize others while forgetting to look at ourselves, at least it is for me. This debacle has made me question my intentions – why do I fish and dive? Am I a trophy ab hunter? I don’t like to think so, but from a certain point of view, maybe I am.

I enjoy NCKA and don’t come on here to stir up sh**, That’s what Coastside is for  :smt003

And if you have no idea what I’m talking about, all the better.
Thanks and Happy Turkey Day everyone.

Thanks for the apology, but there really is no need for it. People have misunderstandings on message boards all the time....and FWIW I'm really, really hard to offend.  :smt003

And as far as calling you out on the abs, just so you know - I would've done the same thing to Craig or Mike, or any of my friends. I just call it like I see it.

But I do apologize if it bothered you enough to make this thread! I just kind of thought you'd fire something back at me, but you took the high road and apologized. Good man.

I think what frustrated me is that I thought someone like yourself (being an ab-hunter) would understand where I was coming from. When I said 'There's more to the mount than the mount', I meant the whole experience. Being outdoors with great friends, or even by yourself just taking it all in. I know you don't ab-dive to go find the biggest ab every single time to bring it to the surface and hold it over your head and scream - "Look at how manly I am! I slayed a mighty ab!"...but that's kind of how you came off when you were referring to the leopard example. Like you thought he killed the leopard to feel more like a man. Now I know a small percentage of people are like that, but I think we both know that most are not.

I hope this helps to clear things up!

And for the record. I love coyote hunting. I've been a total of five times and have seen a total of zero coyotes.....lol.

Now that we got that out of the way....

#7...be named garcia, see below.

M2...FWIW, after seeing the size of the abs outlining your garage door it was obvious that you're not a trophy hunter  :smt003

ps....the shirt was pretty awesome dude, the heavens aligned on that one and it was one of the rare cases that really made me laugh out loud.

..........agarcia is just an ex-kayaker

Thanks, but it really wasn't a misunderstanding. I was shooting my mouth off, and deserved a good kick in the ass.

But I do apologize if it bothered you enough to make this thread! I just kind of thought you'd fire something back at me, but you took the high road and apologized. Good man.

It definitely bothered me for a few days, but I brought it upon myself, so no apology necessary!

I think what frustrated me is that I thought someone like yourself (being an ab-hunter) would understand where I was coming from. Cool.
And FWIW, I love pulling big abs and catching big fish, as do all of us. While the shells are undeniably pretty - call them trophies, keepsakes, leftovers, or whatever you prefer - an even bigger thrill/disappointment is turning the ab over to see if you've scored a good meal or not.
There is a trophy hunter in all of us I believe, so I can't be one to judge.
May the fish be mighty and the seas be meek...
