Will be heading down this Thurs. for Pt. Mugu Naval to attend a wedding. Will be staying on the facility and have the okay to bring my kayak.   This is the map of where will be staying. I have fly fished the surf there and did very well. Was suppose to hit this area with an unnamed kayak buddy of mine but just couldn't pull it together....yet. I have my license for NORCAL but I believe that this area requires a different stamp. Any insight would be appreciated. I'm really stoked about this area.  I am pretty sure this location hasn't been hit by any Kayak fishermen due to it's security. Frank

You need an ocean enhancement stamp to fish south of Pt Conception.  A couple miles south of Pt Mugu on Hwy 1 is Sycamore Canyon State Park, which has miles and miles of fantastic canyon and mountain hiking and biking trails.

You just need an ocean enhancement stamp (maybe 5 bucks?) and you're good to go. My friend who works at Port Hueneme says the fishing is pretty good down there. Good luck!

Yeah, I know about the stamp and will get that handled. I am more concerned about setups or fish varieties that can be had or not. But man am I stoked!!!!

when I visit the inlaws in ventura I try for butts. I don't see much kelp so I can't say of there is a calico bite in the area. I have nailed one sandbass near the jetties. I've nabbed the odd ray or leo shark. But we got that here.
