You guys are killing me with this stuff.  I love the table idea.  I stored my p-15 inside my trailer for a year on the old Sac.  Dilbeck, three flights would just be a good warmup!

The one question that needs to be asked before all else, is are you single?  If your not, the G/F, wife, mistress whatever may have some thoughts about you storing a kayak in the condo!  I don't care how much you may like the look of it the kayak, if she doesn't like, neither do you!

What's so comical about storing on a balcony?  Our first place was the Avalon Campbell, 2 Bd/2bath, 1040 sq feet, balcony.  That Hobie Maui  wasn't going in the already cramped living quarters, so it sat on the balcony.  And yep, we were on the top/3rd floor!  It was not fun, but i managed.  AND, since I didn't want to keep running up and down the stairs to shag gear, I kept my total rigging to a bare minimum.  1 rod, one tray, pfd, paddle.

Ahhh, those were the days.  Now, there's no way i could pull that off with an adventure 16 . . .

Don't bother with slinging it up to the rafters.  that'll just draw unwanted scrutiny from the evil landlord, and increase your GO time

Thanks everyone for the idea, sorry for lack of detail in original post.

Its second floor and has balcony about 20-23ft long and yes married, so kayak indoor is no go.

Design of the stairs and entry hallway makes very difficult to bring it through the door.  Pulling it up, hmm, if HOA or board member who lives 2 unit down see me doing it probably have heart-attack.  Also, enough trees near the wall that makes it a trouble some.  Also, downstair neighbor is quite hardass, don't think he will appreciate bumping his wall or fence.   Didn't know they rent kayak storage space... have to look into that, thanks.

I was thinking about renting self-storage near home but easy access roll-up door style are usually for larger space and $$$.

Again thanks for input, at least, I got some ideas to float in my head.

flip it over and use it as a dining room table! legs in the scupper holes. done!

I stored mine on my kitchen table for over a year when I first bought it.  It made rigging/drilling/etc.. very convenient.

GF's dug it.

I once stored a 14.5' SIK vertically in a tiny 2 story apartment. The place had exposed beams at the top of the stairs, so I put an eyebolt & pulley up there, then put a rope through the pulley with a carabiner on one end. Carabiner clipped to the front handle of the kayak, then I just hauled it up until it stood on end and tied the rope off to a cleat on the stairs.

At Christmastime we put lights on it & hung cards from the deck bungees.

Of course, I also got away with storing my rods, paddles, and speargun in a rack in the living room. :smt044

Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.
