New to the board but been lurking at forum for awhile.  But since I don't own kayak yet, I have been refraining from posting.  But I could use some help with ideas for the kayak storage option for someone who lives in Condo.

I been wanting to get into kayak fishing for about 6 months but I can't seem to find good solution for Kayak storage for Condo resident, which have been my main concern preventing me from purchasing kayak for fishing.

Any suggestion would be great.

Love the forum and family/friend atmosphere of the members.

Store it IN the condo. :smt003   Are you on the ground floor or do you have to lug it up stairs?  Obviously, my solution isn't so great if you have to lug it up 3 flights of stairs.  That said, you wouldn't be the first to have it inside your pad.  You could hang it on the wall above the couch as a piece of art or decoration. :smt002

balcony? Unless you have regs against that. If you can hang it then there are some cool set ups. Heck some guys just store in ON their car (with a good lock)

when I was in college I hauled a big ass electric piano up 3 flights of stairs every weekend.  Now I am older and wiser.  I would have roped it up like a kayak on a cliff drop!  So even if your condo is high, look for a place that you can just pull it up.

Do you have a 14 ft hallway?  How using one of those kayak wall straps and placing it high up?  Might not look nice, but I would do anything for my kayak now (sickness has gotten to that level).  :smt003

At most bike shops and kayak shops the sell pulley systems...my condo hase a garage. I assume yours does not. mine is set up to pull it up over my car a 2 foot drop onto the racks and ready to rock...you could do it in the house but would most likely need to duck passing under with a standard cieling hieghth. But it does get it off the floor...if you like to fish its worth the storage dilema!! good luck

its exceedingly difficult if you have to sell kayaks every week like darius does.  at least you have an empty balcony right now!
