I am going camping in Big Sur with some family and friends this wknd. I'll be there from Thursday AM to Sunday PM. I have group sites 2 and 3 at Plaskett Creek campground. Of course, I'm hoping to yakfish but that always depends on the wind & swell. If you want to go for a day or overnight, please send me a PM to confirm and I'll forward you the details & info.
Thanks,
Pat

Hi Pat,
I camped 4 days at Plaskett creek last week. Love that spot, also great in Dec./Jan. when we get the good weather. Didn't bring the yak, but the perch fishing at Sand Dollar beach was real good on both grubs and flies.
Also, the water in the campground is running, but it's NOT potable.
Have fun, Jim

Let's go fishin', and don't look back, cuz you'll never see a hearse with a kayak rack!

Right on Jim, thanks for the tips. I haven't tried shorefishing for perch down there, but I always wondered about Sand Dollar. The shore rockfishing is so good that I often overlook the perch. I think we caught ~20 rockies/cabs between 3 of us in 5hrs last wknd, including a 22" black for Ryan LingKing. Wish you could make it, Uncle Abby...there will be a next time though.

Yes, absolutely! I plan to do some shorefishing regardless of weather.  I'm planning to yakfish Friday/Sat with some shorefishing in between...plus, it's waay easier to drink beer on dry land lol

Awesome!  Shore fishing it is!  :smt003  Will likely still try and beat the swells to get some tacos though  :smt002
