So my FF stopped working.  I had dropped it on the ground pretty hard a few weeks earlier (enough to dent the case), so I thought that was probably the culprit.  Took my multi meter and checked power the unit twice. Check, power to the unit.  OK, I screwed the thing up when I dropped it - need a new one.

In the meantime, Saltydog tells me there's a Cuda 300 at Walmart in Windsor for 79 bucks.   Grumpy's coming up too go fish, so I ask him to pick it up.   But when I hook it up to my power supply - no worky.  So I go back and check everything.  Sure enough, there's a crack in the powerline right by the battery connection that made the power supply go off and on.

So now I have 2 fishfinders.  Maybe I'll be 2X as good an angler now?

LOL...mine suddenly got a "low voltage" warning yesterday and quit working.  The batteries were fairly new, but had some use so I figured they'd just gone dead.  Got home and went to remove them for recycling when I noticed that the negative lead had broken it's weld to the battery holder, and two of the batteries had overheated to the point where they'd begun to leak acid.  So acid-cleanup and re-soldering got added to my post-trip cleanup...

If you hook both of them on you yak, then you can see more fish (double)  :smt044

At the very least, you'll see twice as many fish now!
