Good for the US......but it would really be a major jolt to the world of football if they can beat Brazil  :smt002

IMO: you don't really have to win the world cup....you just need to beat Brazil :smt002

We had them beat in the Confederations Cup championship game with a 2-0 lead, but somehow, someway, we choked hard.

Don't overlook Argentina and Spain.  Maybe even Germany and Portugal.

Tomorrow's Portugal vs. Brasil game will be good although it won't mean a thing since it looks like both teams are through to the next round.

I would love to see it, but I don't see it happening.

Spain was looking CRISP in their last game. Wish I could say the same for Italy.

I just got home from South Africa yesterday. We made it to a couple matches in Capetown and had the experience of watching the rest either in a pubs or around the V&A Waterfront outside the stadium. A couple observations from a novice fan.

1) USA has a pretty good following there, but generally don't go nuts with the costumes and face paint, this may change as they advance.
2) the Brits can make a song out of anything. "We killed your fishes and stole your bit*^es" was an interesting one in reference to BP spill.
3) It was very disappointing to to go into a beautiful new stable and be forced to drink Budweiser, I believe the entire occupancy of each game felt this way.
4) We are now the owners of 4 vuvuzela's, these things are blown everywhere and at anytime in Capetown. I had multiple offers to buy ours in airports while coming home. I personally was not a fan of the noise, I wore earplugs during both matches, but attending these matches were the best sports experience I have had.
