July 4th weekend up in Shelter Cove

Just got off the phone with Jack at the campground and reseved a site.  He said there are still many available.  Should be coming up with a couple friends and I'd like for some more yakers to come. There's a lot of fish there waiting to be caught since i didn't get them at GS4.

Dude! I was _this close to planning a July 4th trip up there too! But my better-half doesn’t tolerate long car rides...D’oh!
But I was up there for the 4th last year and it kicked ass! Everybody cruises down to the area by the cleaning station and watches the epic illegal fireworks show...people shootin off fireworks from the launchramp beach. Everybody was havin a good time, including the local fire crew and Sherriff lol. Bring a lawnchair and an icechest full of beer, and stake out a spot once it starts to get dark. Then it’s partytime!

OH man...  I want to go!  Going to have to consider it, since I REALLY want to go back at least once this year before the weather turns.  I'll have to let you know early next week!

I went up there on the 4th last summer, Sin Coast is right about the fireworks, its epic, not to be missed. We found that the campground was full of some very enthusiastic campers that weekend. It was very noisy with loud music, general partying and imbibing and apparently some fighting later on. We heard someone doing donuts during the night and the next morning we heard that they'd had to call the highway patrol and had ejected and banned some people from the campground. I decided I'd rather go later in July this year for a more peaceful experience.
