Left the house at 6:00am yesterday and made the 2 hour run down to Lake Nacimeinto..

Lake is full and no-one was there.  Sweet.  Unloaded the yaks and prepared for battle.

Buddy Steve was on fire right off the bat.  Sweet keeper spot, released..

Trolled around the dam area with roostertails and ended up with 20 bass for the 2 of us.

Even scored 3 white bass.

Back to the dock at 1:30 and home by 4:00.  Nice way to burn a Monday.  Yak On..

Naci has been off the hook this year - glad you had a good day otw - the whites are noticeably larger this year - many in the 2-3 lb. range - white or yellow roostertails work great but the ticket is a 1/4 oz. chrome kastmaster - before the last storm blew in we were catching an average of 15-20 whites and assorted spots/smallies per hour - if you want to go just for spots wacky rig a senko and work in the 5 mph areas of las tablas or dip creek

Wow, an NCKA Naci report, thanks.  My parents own property and a house at Oak Shores.  That is great that the lake is doing so well, and the fishing is improving.  I love fishing there when the topwater bite is on during May/June.  The house has room for 8-10 people if anyone would be interested.  Midweek in June might be good, since I have the summer off.  Might be a fun, but small, NCKA get-together.

If anybody is coming down this way let me know as I am down here on the Central Coast, used to live at Heritage Ranch and this will be a memorable year - new docks also being installed right now at the main marina - should be done soon.  Lots of great ocean fishing down here in Cambria, San Simeon Morro Bay and Avila Beach - i don't get the opportunity to take part in many NCKA functions up north due to a busy schedule but have always had a blast when I do!

that looks like an awesome lake, never fished it before.  What species are all in the lake?
