We're looking forward to seeing everyone there!

Be prepared for the boat inspection when you arrive. The standards say your boat needs to be clean and dry. They are understanding if the outside of your boat has some condensation on it from morning dew, but insdie the hatches needs to be dry. Here is what I do each time I go to Del Valle, and I've never had a a problem:

  • Before I load my boat I take a damp towel and wipe down the whole exterior of the boat. If I have a mud line along the hull from my last trip in the Bay/Delta I'll be sure to scrub that off. Likewise I make sure there is no mud anywhere on the outside of the hull. I don't worry about stains as long as the obvious dirt is removed.
  • Next, I take a dry towel and wipe out the inside of my boat inside each hatch. I also make sure there is no sand floating around inside the boat.
  • Finally, I grab my seat and PFD and make sure they are dry. If they still have a bit of moisture I'll hang them so that they will dry overnight.

Sounds great. I'll bring some veggie health food.
I hear the trout bite is going strong over there, too! Good timing.

Thanks again to everyone who is planning to make this event.  We are excited to to be moving to Idaho but sad to say good-bye to NCKA and the friendliest fishing folks I have ever been around.  This group has been wonderful to get know and will be missed.  This event is a great way for us to say "Thanks."  See you all tomorrow.
