What about something to cut them down to size.

We used a mitre saw with a disc that cuts metal....very quick work on that part.  Drilling the handle part was easy but the blade part was not.  knives were stainless.

Beautiful!!!   :smt007 I wish I had the tools to make some...
Cobalt bit and a hand drill variable speed , a vise or vise grips all you need

What about something to cut them down to size.

If you have any kind of grinder just score a straight line use vise or vise grips and bend really fast preferably with cold metal the blade will snap off then file, sand or grind the edge, other wise just bend back and forth fast if you do it slow it won't break very well

Nice looking jigs , sure they will work great . I  put some effort into making some with a hacksaw and a hand drill , with top of the line bits/blades . Long story - short , was going to cost more for the cutting supplies than new jigs would cost plus was VERY time consuming . Got PO ed and the project ended up in the garbage can !    :smt013

I have had to learn the hard way I have to grind them thinner than what I think they need.  Damn split rings always are pain in the butt putting them on.  I have done a few, and have a bunch prepped, need to spend some time next month.

Yeah about the knife jig. Last years rockfish season I was fishing right next to
guitarzan(Ben). He was using one of his homemade knife jig and he was constantly
out fishing me like 5 to 1. Well since Allan had already ran sack all the goodwill
here in town, I may have to go else where to score on some butter knives. :smt044 :smt044

Stay away from the Goodwill in Benicia.  There are land mines around this store!  :smt044
